DeKALB – A 23-kill weekend performance by senior outside hitter Katie Jablonski from NIU volleyball has earned her the title of the Northern Star’s Huskie of the Week.

Jablonski led the Huskie offense during Saturday’s 3-0 victory over the Central Michigan University Chippewas, logging 12 kills in the match. She had a match hitting percentage of .357, notching 12 kills and two attack errors on 28 swings.

The Elburn native totaled 23 kills on 75 attempts and a combined attacking percentage of .200. She also contributed 20 digs on the defensive front.

NIU’s sweep on Saturday allowed Jablonski, along with fellow senior outside hitters Brianna “Bina” Scuric and Kaitlyn “Kat” Bell, to end their final home stand with a win.

Jablonski and the Huskies will wrap up the regular season with road matches against Eastern Michigan University on Friday and Saturday and Western Michigan University on Nov. 16. NIU sits at No. 7 in the Mid-American Conference standings with three matches left to play.

Next week’s Huskie of the Week will be announced Nov. 14.
