Weekly horoscopes: Feb. 5-11

We’re trying something different this week: food and/or drink recommendations! You can take them literally and try out these recommendations, or you can try to cultivate a similar “vibe” to what your sign’s recommendation is.

Aries (March 21 – April 20)

Your meal: Popcorn

Life is exciting for you as of late! Whether you’re recovering from an injury or dealing with the growing pains of a new pet, you have a lot going on. You might as well try to sit back and enjoy the process however you can.

Taurus (April 21 – May 20)

Your meal: A box of chocolates

Valentine’s Day is on its way, and if you don’t feel prepared for it yet, now is the time to start gearing up. You may not have a significant other, you may not want a significant other, but you can still try to celebrate love in all of its forms.

Gemini (May 21 – June 21)

Your meal: Pot roast

Are you feeling fulfilled with your life? If not, now is the time to start making moves in that direction. You deserve to love what you do, and if what you’re doing isn’t serving you, consider cutting it loose.

Cancer (June 22 – July 22)

Your meal: An espresso

It can be so easy to feel sluggish this time of year. It’s cold, it’s windy – it’s just overall not a good time. If you need a pep in your step, you are not alone. You may not be a coffee drinker, but if your energy reserves are low, try out an espresso.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 23)

Your meal: Sushi

Do you remember those fancy, rich white girls in 2000s TV shows and movies who ordered sushi because producers thought it was exotic and therefore a covetable delicacy? That’s the energy you need to cultivate: only the best will do for you.

Virgo (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23)

Your meal: Bibimbap

Even those who aren’t adventurous with food will likely enjoy bibimbap. Its colorful flavors can send your taste buds on a whimsical journey, when prepared right. Treat life like a whimsical journey this week, and maybe add some kimchi for gut health.

Libra (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23)

Your meal: Tomato soup

Many people consider tomato soup to be a comfort food. If you have days where you just want to stay in bed and listen to your favorite band on repeat, that’s OK. Almost everyone has those days. Remember to drag yourself out of bed occasionally.

Scorpio (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22)

Your meal: A glass of water

No, really. Chug some water. Hydration is tantamount to health. Are you taking care of yourself? Because you’re also a water sign, this is doubly important. Water connects you to your nature. Also, your kidneys will thank you.

Sagittarius (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21)

Your meal: Beans and rice

You’re in a period of growth, be it physically, mentally or emotionally. Because of this, you need to remember to give yourself your basic needs. This includes complete proteins (which can be achieved by eating beans and rice, believe it or not).

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20)

Your meal: Bread and butter

You just need something simple that gets the job done. Life can be rough. If you find you’re too busy to sit down and eat a complete meal these days, maybe take a step back and sort out your priorities in a way that better serves you.

Aquarius (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19)

Your meal: Gelato

Even non-Italians deserve some gelato this week. Treat yourself! You’ve been through the wringer recently, and plain old ice cream just won’t do. Maybe take yourself out on a date, as well – have a relaxing night in, just because.

Pisces (Feb. 20 – March 20)

Your meal: A bear claw

For those unlearned in the world of pastries, a bear claw is a giant, paw-shaped donut often with an almond paste filling. You can be a lot like a bear claw in some ways: you seem intimidating, but really, you’re a softie. Indulge in that.
