Not guilty pleasures drag show

From 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. NIU’s Holmes Student Center will host a drag show charity fundraiser that will take place in the Duke Ellington Ballroom. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and $60 for a table that can seat eight people. Tickets can be bought online. Food and beverages will be provided for all attendees and there will be a cash bar for attendees over 21 with a valid ID. The performance is organized by NIU and will be performed by NIU students and staff. 

Liverpool Legends

From 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. the Egyptian Theater, located at 135 N. second St.

DeKalb, will welcome back the Liverpool Legends. The Liverpool Legends are a four member tribute band to the Beatles. The musicians were picked by Louise Harrison, the sister of late Beatles member George Harrison, to portray the beloved rock band. Tickets can be bought online at the Egyptian Theater’s website. Ticket prices range between $35 and $65. 

Lavender linen spray workshop

From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. the DeKalb Public Library, located at 309 Oak St. DeKalb, will host a free workshop where attendees will learn how to make their own lavender mist. The workshop is intended for teenagers and adults and includes a simple recipe that will help with sleep. There is no registration required but the event is first come first serve as there is limited space available. Anyone who is interested in attending can reserve their spot online

In-depth tour of Ellwood

Beginning at 10 a.m. in-depth tours of both the Ellwood mansion and Ell Court house will begin. The in-depth tours only take place on the 4th Saturday of each month and take roughly two hours. Tickets must be bought ahead of time online as walk-ins will not be granted admission. The ticket price for adults is $18 and $10 for youths ages 6 to 17. Tours begin in the visitors center, located at 420 Linden Place, DeKalb.
