Sissi named to All-MAC Tournament team

DeKALB – The Mid-American Conference announced NIU gymnastics sophomore Isabella Sissi as one of the 11 gymnasts on the MAC All-Tournament team Sunday. 

Sissi scored  39.100 in the all-around competition, which was enough for sixth place in the tournament. She scored  9.725 on the bars and balance beam. Her highest score of the tournament came on the floor routine, where she scored 9.825. Sissi wrapped up competition on vault, scoring a 9.825 to tie a career and season high. 

This season, Sissi scored at least a 9.825 on every event this season, while also scoring 9.000 or higher in all-around nine times – the highest a 39.325 against Western Michigan University on March 4. 

Sissi is joined by Ball State University juniors Victoria Henry and Hannah Ruthberg and senior Megan Teter, Bowling Green State University senior Taylor Jensen and sophomore Kathryn Weilbacher, Central Michigan University senior Hannah DeMers and freshman Luciana Alvarado-Reid, Kent State University senior Rachel DeCavitch and Western Michigan University seniors Amanda Gruber and Payton Murphy on the All-MAC Tournament team.
