CAB to host free drag show for students

By Nick Glover, Lifestyle Editor

DeKALB – The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is hosting a free drag show from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday in the Duke Ellington Ballroom at the Holmes Student Center.

The event will feature drag artists like Flicky Fourloko and Aleyna Couture, who will be hosting the event.

The event is free to NIU students, and there will be desserts and mocktails waiting for you.

The only place to enter the Holmes Student Center is through the east door. All other doors will be locked. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Additionally, for safety purposes, the show will have a clear bag policy, which means that all bags or purses should be clear so that the contents of the bag are visible.

CAB recommends that for those who have never been to a drag show, there are a few rules that should be observed.

First, singing along, yelling, hollering and other forms of praise are welcome and encouraged. The goal is to have fun.

You can tip the performers — and it’s recommended within drag culture — by raising your hand toward the performer.
