DeKALB – NIU junior outfielder and catcher Colin Summerhill recorded seven RBIs (runs batted in) in the Huskies’ last four games, including a grand slam against Northwestern University. Summerhill’s dominant performance from the plate helped him net this week’s Huskie of the Week honor.

Summerhill’s grand slam accounted for 4 out of the 11 runs for the Huskies in the loss against Northwestern. His home run began a 6-0 Huskie rally that ultimately fell short as the Huskies fell to the Wildcats 15-11 on March 28.

Summerhill plated one run on a sacrifice fly in the third inning during Saturday’s loss to Xavier University. The Huskies were defeated by the Musketeers 9-4.

On Sunday, Summerhill also drove in a run from a sacrifice fly and hit a solo home run in the series finale against Xavier, finishing with two RBIs. NIU was swept by Xavier in the final game by a score of 3-2.

Next week’s Huskie of the Week will be announced on April 10.

The Northern Star Huskie of the Week is voted for on a weekly basis. Student-athletes considered for this week’s edition were chosen based on their weekly performance in competitions taking place from March 27 to April 2.
