DeKALB – Another full week of Huskie sports kicks off the final stretch of sports for the spring 2023 season, highlighted by baseball’s home series with Akron Uuniversity and softball’s weekday series with Western Michigan University.

The NIU baseball team (7-30, 4-13 MAC) will play four home games and one road game this week. The Huskies will play their second game of the season against the University of Illinois Chicago (16-19, 4-11 MVC) on Tuesday and then travel to Normal for their second game of the season against Illinois State University (13-22, 4-11 MVC) on Wednesday. The Huskies will then return to DeKalb to take on Akron University (14-25, 6-15 MAC) in a three-game series over the weekend.

The NIU softball team (21-21, 10-9 MAC) will play three home games and three road games this week. The Huskies will first take on Western Michigan University (14-22, 8-9 MAC) in a three-game series on Tuesday and Wednesday at home. They will then travel to New York to take on the University at Buffalo (10-31, 4-13 MAC) in a three-game series over the weekend. 

TRACK

Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 at Drake University 

Des Moines, Iowa / Drake Stadium

NIU women’s track will travel to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays this weekend. The Huskies will be returning from last week’s trip to Waco, Texas after competing at the Michael Johnson Invitational.
