Human rights
October 16, 1991
A conversation that might have been overheard recently on campus:
“I think there’s a real chance it will become extremely popular and well-received. It may look incredibly fragile, some have said it’s even dangerous!
“But I know how carefully it was built and it’s way solid. The strength of its foundation, the perfect balance—it will last forever unless a lot of people decide to tear it down. The simple, honest idea of equality and balance; the way different colors and growth are a natural part of the whole concept. I really like it.”
“Are you talking about the new Martin Luther King sculpture?”
“No, you doofus—human rights!”
