DeKALB – The DeKalb Fire Department received a call at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday regarding smoke at a building that Frontier Communications operates out of, 2120 Pleasant St. No one was injured in the fire, and it has been extinguished.
A vehicle’s engine compartment caught fire inside the building, causing the fire and cosmetically damaging the shell of the building, according to James Carani, DeKalb Fire Department deputy chief of training.
“Nothing structural (damage) that we can see so far,” Carani said.
There is currently no damage to areas outside of the building.
“This is all contained to this facility, and there’s no public harm,” Carani said.
