NIU’s community will be treated to the classic Shakespeare play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” directed at NIU’s Black Box Theatre.

The play is a comedy and a tale of love, as two young couples fall prey to the whimsy of the fairy court and the weight of societal expectations.

With a number of intriguing characters. From strolling players, a Duke and members of the fairy court, the play has a little something for everyone.

Last weekend the play had its opening run of performances.

This week the play will have its final three performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets must be purchased online. NIU students can attend free of charge. Tickets are $20 for the general public, $18 for seniors and $12 for non-NIU students.
