NIU women’s golf is adding a highly successful athlete with the signing of Alexa Ouellet from De La Salle College in Toronto, Ontario.
Ouellet won Golf Ontario’s 4-Ball championship in 2022 and 2023. She also won the AJGA Mercy Health Foundation Junior All-Star in 2022 and the Golf Ontario Tour Championship in 2023.
Ouellet was a consistent performer in 2022, placing top-10 in 12 of 16 tournaments played, including two wins. Her average score was 75.5 strokes.
Ouellet plays for Team Ontario. She is one of seven women on the team.
NIU women’s golf head coach Kim Kester looks forward to Ouellet’s arrival and impact at NIU.
“We are very excited to welcome Alexa to the Huskie golf family,” Kester said in an NIU Athletics press release. “She has a very impressive junior golf career, and we know that will continue here at NIU. She has a lot of experience competing in the U.S. and Canada; both individually and representing team Ontario. She will be a great asset academically and athletically to the Huskie golf family.”
Women’s golf will start the 2024 spring season with the BGSU Women’s Intercollegiate starting Feb. 13 in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
