SA treasurer to reach out
August 28, 1991
For student organizations wishing to be recognized and funded, Student Association Treasurer Joe Kolerich is looking out to reach those organizations.
“Some of my goals are to make sure all organizations are aware they can get funding,” Kolerich said.
He said he would like organizations to realize they have a fair opportunity to come before the finance committee and present themselves in a credible manner.
“It’s in the scope of the SA to make sure all organizations found credible for funding would be helped with a subcommittee member and that subcommittee would help them with the budget,” Kolerich said.
Getting organization’s appeals heard and taken care of is another concern, Kolerich said.
An organization makes an appeal after making a proposed budget and presenting it to the finance committee which then takes it in front of the senate, he said.
If organizations find there is something they do not like, they can appeal at any time, Kolerich said.
Kolerich also said he wants to make sure meetings are prompt and accurate so organizations, the senate and the students at large know what is going on.
“My job here is to make sure everything runs smoothly in the fiscal realm of things,” Kolerich said.
There are a few changes Kolerich plans to make concerning past treasurer policies.
He said he is trying to be more flexible concerning the funding which will go out to different organizations.
Kolerich said he would like to see more fiscal responsibility going to the organizations.
“I’m going to be on top of issues and make sure those issues are addressed,” he said. “I’m going to make sure there is a concrete answer to any question that might come up.”
