DeKALB – NIU hosted a vigil for victims of the Valentine’s Day 2008 shooting on Wednesday. This year is the 16th anniversary of the mass shooting.
Charlotte and Lawrence Gehant, aunt and uncle of 2008 shooting victim Juliana Gehant, hug NIU President Lisa Freeman at the Forward, Together Forward vigil Wednesday. The vigil takes place on Feb. 14 annually, bells toll at exactly 3:06 p.m in remembrance of the shooting victims. (Sean Reed | Northern Star)
