I’m voting for Trump, here’s why

With his strong leadership and unique vision, Donald Trump is the candidate who can unify the fractured GOP and secure the future of America.

Voting is especially hard when the age-old debate about presidential term limits is in the headlines for the current nominees.

It is easy to fall victim to the division of politics and succumb to the hopelessness in American voting systems. A stark comparison exists between the concept of polarization and its impact on the nation, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research.

The U.S. is dividing faster than other democracies, Americans’ feelings toward members of the other political party are worsening overtime.

Choosing the lesser of two evils is still an option.

With Trump as president, the United States will experience a transformation in the existing state of affairs and revive the unification of Americans that has weakened over the years during the Biden administration.

In the dynamic landscape of a Trump presidency, the media is positioned to construct implicit arguments linked to punish Republicans looking to find a seat in government, including Trump.

Only 16% of Republicans who are politically active think the media serves the people’s best interests, while 91% of Democrats who are engaged also feel that way, according to Pew Research Center.

Outlets like NBC or Associated Press, both in and out of election season, cover various topics with headlines related to gun violence, pro-choice issues and immigration-related crimes.

The headlines subtly hint at a bigger issue, which could be used to challenge the validity of Trump’s discourse.

Trump redefines the Republican Party despite these headlines that undermine his efforts. His unique blend of populist appeal, focus on national affairs and undeniable charisma has given rise to a fresh political movement. Oftentimes, Trump resonates with Americans who feel excluded from the political status quo.

A conservative-led cabinet in the White House, anchored by the current GOP frontrunner, confronts these headlines through a combination of policy measures that helped him gain a national 2.6% lead, according to 270toWin.

The Trump 2024 immigration policies are necessary to protect national security, public health, rule of law and prevent a humanitarian crisis at the border

Reinstating and expanding the controversial 2017 travel ban on people entering the U.S. guides the administration’s planning prior to the general election.

While sensitive in subject, these steps under a Trump presidency appeal to a number of Americans. But, there is also dissatisfaction among independent voters with a Trump presidency.

Trump is argued to be a threat to democracy as he has shown authoritarian tendencies and disregard for democratic norms and institutions, according to Michigan State University.

Trump alters the system of checks and balances in the U.S., which lawmakers think is detrimental.

NIU political science professor and researcher, Scot Schraufnagel, said Trump’s indictments may play a role this election year.

“I think the biggest issue there is whether or not he stays out of jail,” Schraugnagel said. “And but if he stays out of jail, he’s absolutely got a shot to win and even in jail.”

Schraufnagel said no matter how crazy Trump may be, party loyalty is a large motivator for his voter base.

“There are people who kind of like are embarrassed by Trump, right? But still would vote for him because they’re damn sure not gonna vote for a Democrat,” Schraufnagel said. “So party loyalty explains like, depending on the election, depending on the year, party loyalty can explain anywhere from 70 to over 90% of all vote choice.”

America is facing some of the most controversial and complex issues of its time, distorted by sensationalism and polarization, according to the Pew Research Center

Through lackluster politics and debateable rhetoric, Trump’s presidency has torn America apart, but also lit a fire of passion and action in the hearts of many who love our country.

That is the beauty of the United States – fostering dissent alongside unique leadership.

Trump dares to chase his vision of a bright and hopeful America, a vision that will shake the foundations of the nation.
