Homophobia?

I would like to make it perfectly clear to David Huggins of the GLU that not one person on campus is “afraid” of homosexuals. You can hide behind that excuse all you want; it’s not going to work.

In your letter, you also mentioned homophobia. Where? I haven’t seen any. If it exists to any degree, you’re causing it by having ridiculous events like Homosexual Awareness Week.

Despite what you think, everyone on campus knows exactly what homosexuality is. Their negative reaction is not caused by ignorance, they’re just sick of putting up with your crap! Those (if any) who hate you don’t do so because you’re gay, they hate you because you’re trying to force them to accept something they don’t believe in.

No matter how hard you try, you are never going to gain instant total acceptance. In fact, the harder you push your beliefs on others, the less people are going to accept you. People will accept you if you don’t cram your ideas down their throats.

I have developed a simple plan to help you gain an incredible amount of acceptance: sit down and shut up!
