DeKALB – NIU served as the host to nearly 300 people who viewed the solar eclipse from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday outside Davis Hall on the east side of campus.
Assistant physics professor Hector de la Torre Perez helps his wife Victoria Moyano Luna, a Warrenville resident, use a pair of binoculars with solar eclipse filters on the lenses. The NIU Observatory organized the event and supplied many tables consisting of different ways to view the eclipse run by assistant professors. (Totus Tuus Keely | Northern Star)
