Part of majority

Well I guess I am a “narrow-minded individual” who makes “moronic comments” about a “so misunderstood event.” Then again maybe I am not.

As a Christian (someone who tries to reflect God’s word in their everyday life and decision making) I do worry about the consequences of my actions.

Unlike homosexuals though, I do not only have to worry about people ridiculing me on campus.

I worry about a much more powerful force then all the people on this campus. I worry about what God thinks.

The fact is that I speak out against homosexuality because it is wrong. The Bible tells us in Leviticus 18:22 “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.”

Now I am not only narrow-minded, moronic and do not understand, I am also a religious fanatic who is trying to impose my morality on you.

Or am I?

As much as the Gay/Lesbian Union and others that support them do not want to admit it, many people do not know about Jeans Day and most of those who do either purposely avoid wearing jeans that day or, even though they do not support GLU efforts they do not care and wear jeans anyway.

This means that for whatever their reasons may be, most people do not support the GLU. Funny, now I am part of the majority.

This would mean that the GLU is trying to impose their values on me. I have found this to be very common here at NIU. I mean it was GLU and BRIC efforts that will have ROTC kicked off campus if their policy does not change in one year.

I thought NIU was a public institution which would mean that it was run by the government. So it should reflect the majority opinion.

This would mean that ROTC should stay because the NIU constitution which bars discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation does not reflect a majority of NIU students opinions and should be changed to do so.

Maybe the fact is that I am not a narrow-minded, moronic, religious fanatic who does not understand. But it could be that certain groups have gone too far when it comes to making their point.
