DeKALB – NIU Athletics announced plans Thursday to open two Huskie Apparel Store locations this fall inside the Convocation Center and Recreation Center.

The stores will offer Adidas products, including official team-worn lines and replica jerseys, as well as other exclusive apparel, such as items featuring the iconic Fighting Huskie throwback logo and other novelty items. Store apparel will also be sold in The Yard during all NIU home football games and some other home NIU sporting events.

“We are very excited to be able to make this store a reality starting this fall,” said NIU Associate Athletic Director for Brand and Equipment Management Paige Shinberg in a news release. “We have listened to our fanbase on the types of apparel options they would like to have and that has been our starting point.”

The Convocation Center location, located near Entrance One in the building’s northwest corner, will be open during all events held at the Convo. The Recreation Center is scheduled to open Aug. 23 and will be located just inside the building’s main entrance.
