NIU’s softball team will get a teasing foretaste of postseason action this weekend when it takes on three-straight North Star Conference opponents.

The Huskies will be at Wisconsin Green-Bay for a 3 p.m. Friday doubleheader. NIU then returns home for two games against DePaul on Saturday and a twin bill against Illinois-Chicago Sunday, both starting at 1 p.m.

With the NSC Tournament looming ahead (May 3-5), NIU will attempt to gain momentum this weekend and extend its current six-game winning streak.

Friday’s game against UW-GB will set the tone for what is sure to be a weekend of playoff intensity.

“It’s a big challenge to test yourself and prepare for the conference tournament,” NIU coach Dee Abrahamson said. “(UW-GB) is looking for momentum for when they host the tourney next weekend and DePaul’s always been a big rival.”
