Funds for whom?
April 22, 1991
No. Governor Edgar must be wrong. How dare he cut funds for education when our basketball coach, who makes $69,000, is underpaid. After two years of NIU service, the coach only makes twice that of an assistant professor.
I’m embarrassed. Hey, doesn’t the gov. know there are other locations on campus that need $8,000 statues so our pigeons have a place to go?
Instead of giving the professors and graduate students that overly-generous 2 percent raise, why not divert those funds to more pamphlets for GLU meetings?
No wait, those are student funds, we can’t touch those. Besides, professors have that annoying habit of keeping students awake in class.
With all our athletes going pro, the 1 percent student body athlete minority doesn’t need a quality education anyway. I wonder, would the local businessmen raise $50,000 to keep an award-winning professor?
