The DeKalb County History Center is hosting an event from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Thursday, based around their collaborative exhibit “Food: Gathering Around the Table.”
Located at 1730 N. Main St. in Sycamore, “Eat Your Words: Food and Poetry” is a free poetry event that will host local artists reading works written around the topic of food. The event features four established writers from the community; John Bradley, Joe Gastiger, Susan Azar Potterfield and Marilyn Cleland.
“Eat Your Words” will be an insightful and fulfilling look into the different ways people see and treat food, exploring ideas centered around food, the simple act of sharing a meal and traditions around food in society. Visitors are encouraged to come enjoy poems and discuss their thoughts.
The event will provide simple refreshments to guests as they go about the night.
