You know, The Northern Star really is amazing. Your editorials and columns consistently offer the most simplistic and superficial analysis of student issues possible.
The editorial on the debate between the Student Association and Barbara Henley (March 20) is a case in point.
Yes, Henley has legal oversight of how the SA spends students’ activity fees, but neither the letter nor the spirit of the law gives Henley the right to unilaterally spend students’ activity fees as she did last year.
Also, the law does not require Henley to exercise her oversight in a heavy-handed manner as she is obviously inclined to do.
The Star should be ashamed to once again cheer the administration’s actions while denigrating the efforts of the SA to retain what little rights students have left.
Yap, lapdog yap.
