I am glad that in this time of flaring tempers and emotional reactions The Northern Star can maintain a sense of humor by printing guest columns such as the one by Jerry Thompson.

I really enjoyed this parody of the response of many narrow-minded Americans—the ones who say protest is un-American. (Ben Franklin must be turning in his grave).

I especially enjoyed the part about pacifists being “so profoundly unrealistic as to be dysfunctional misfits at best and down right dangerous at the worst.”

Just imagine if Ghandi was in charge of Iraq—now that would be dangerous!
