In a recent “Getting the Edge” column in The Northern Star (Jan. 31), you mistakenly called the counseling and student development center the “career counseling and development center.”

In the interest of clarifying an often confusing distinction between office names and services, please accept the following clarification:

The counseling and student development center (220 Swen Parson) offers a full range of services addressing students’ personal, career and academic concerns. Located within the CSDC is the occupational information to students.

The career planning and placement center (210 Swen Parson) provides assistance to students in the later stages of career development: resume writing, job search strategies, employee information, on-campus interviewing, etc.
