Location: Huskie Den, Holmes Student Center
Bring your friends and compete in teams of two to four against other Huskies in order to win NIU-themed prizes. Topics will include school lunch, real places in fiction, sports and identifying GIFs. No registration is required to participate, however a phone or laptop is needed to join the competition.
WELCOME BACK FALL SEMESTER MIXER
Date and Time: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday
Location: Latino Center
Pop into the Latino Center to meet the staff, network, tour the center and learn more about Latin American Studies. Light refreshments will be included for visitors.
CAMPUS MEETS COMMUNITY BLOCK PARTY
Date and Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday
Location: MLK Commons
This Campus Meets Community Block Party welcomes new and returning students with 75 local businesses and organizations, fun activities, free samples, music, giveaways and more. No admission fee is required to attend. This event was originally scheduled for Sept. 3 but was rescheduled due to bad weather.
FRIDAY GLOW BOWL AT THE HUSKIE DEN
Date and Time: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday
Location: Huskie Den
Head down to the bowling alley in the Huskie Den of the Holmes Student Center for a night of glow bowling and the chance of winning free games. A small fee is required to play.
AN EVENING WITH NARONGRIT DHAMABUTRA
Date and Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday
Location: Music Building, Recital Hall
Enjoy this performance by guest musician Narongrit Hamabutra who will be performing his piano quintet alongside Winston Choi and the Avalon String Quartet. The program will begin with a pre-performance lecture and conclude with Dhamabutra’s quintet. Tickets are free for NIU students, $7 for the general public and $5 for non-NIU students, seniors and staff.
