President of IFC lists term goals

NIU’s fraternities will be striving toward good communication next spring.
Steve Sliga, newly-elected Interfraternity Council president, listed various kinds of communication as the goals for his term. Sliga ia a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
“I want to improve IFC-Panhellenic Council communications so everyone knows where they stand,” Sliga said. Relations between the IFC executives and representatives will also be stressed, he said.
epresentatives should be able to hold the executive board accountable for their actions, he said.
Improved communication is possible said Dawn Sturma, adviser for Greek Affairs. Joint meetings between IFC and Panhel as well as forums with advisers could help, she said.
“The system can become more efficient that way,” she said.
Sliga said he also will be able to develop good working relationships with other greek and campus leaders as well as university administrators.
The judicial board will also get a new liaison. New executive vice president Les Meuret, from Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, said he will be able to work with the judicial board to fix some problems.
All nine IFC executives were elected at Tuesday night’s meeting. They will be sworn in to their offices Dec. 4.
