Big voter turnout expected

Today is the da for registered voters to get out and vote for the candidaes they want to hold office.

DeKalb County Clerk Terry Desmond said he is very optimistic about the turnout of voters i today’s election.

“We are expecting the voter turnout to be a little stronger than ordinary this year,” Desmond said.

In a similar election four years ago, 59 percent of the registered voters actually voted on election da, Desmond said. He said he hopes the turnout of voters this year is much better than it was four years ago.

Desmond expects 60 to 65 percent of registered voters to go to the polls this year. This year there are 33,500 registered voters in DeKalb County, he said.
