Seminar offered by hospital
November 8, 1990
Doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers can learn about pain management at Kishwaukee Community Hospital’s seminar on Pain and Epidural Analgesia.
The seminar will be held on Nov. 19, from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Kishwaukee Hospital’s Murphy Center.
This seminar will review the actual mechanism of pain stimulation and sensation, the difference between acute and chronic pain, and will focus on the treatment of pain using epidural analgesia.
Speakers will be Kishwaukee Chief of Anesthesiology Ben Harrison, Anesthetist Jerry Loch, and Clinical Nurse Specialist Yvette Dulohery.
Program topics include the medical perspective on pain management with epidurals and the implications for postoperative recovery; an introduction to epidural pain management and epidural analgesia nursing considerations; and a “patient in the box” module for actual hands-on placement check.
The registration fee of $75 includes refreshments, lunch and materials.
