Get some news
November 27, 1990
I am writing to you because I am deeply saddened that the stories and articles you print in your paper have rapidly declined since the beginning of the semester.
During the first few weeks on campus I enjoyed reading the Star during my Psych class. But not anymore. I feel The Northern Star lacks the qualities of a good newspaper.
Almost every article is a re-hash of old stories. Can’t you find anything interesting around campus to write about?
Granted, we are surrounded by miles of corn, but I would tend to think that a university with over 25,000 students would emit some form of interesting activity other than what you are considering news.
Maybe if you got rid of that Free-Fall cartoon you could squeeze in another Farside; which I happen to enjoy reading.
I must say that your sports section is very good and also enjoyable to read.
But if the rest of the paper is going to continue it’s steady decline, I can assure you I will be reading the Tribune instead of the Star during my Psych class.
