Rally for peace
November 7, 1990
The time has certainly come when there must be a collective public voice raised against the current escalation of U.S. Troop deployment in the Persian Gulf.
For this purpose, there will be a NO WAR rally held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. at Huntley Park, DeKalb, between Second and Third at Garden Street, three blocks south of Lincoln Highway.
This peaceful gathering is co-sponsored by the Wesley Foundation, United Campus Ministries, Inter-Faith Network and the Marxist-Humanist Forum.
We encourage all groups and individuals concerned about this current crisis and seemingly inevitable war to attend and participate.
There will be an open-mike agenda and a five-minute maximum per speaker. Perhaps our voices can contribute to a peaceful compromise in the Gulf and an alternative can be found to keep the United States out of war.
