No gender wars

A couple of friends and I have just finished reading “For What It’s Worth” in the Nov. 1 issue of the Huskie Weekender.

We are all deeply offended by Patricia Coleman’s response to the question “Do you think women should be drafted, and should they have to fight in combat?”

She responded “because men are the ones that start wars, they should be the ones to fight in them.”

I’m sorry, but when Saddam Hussein decided to invade Kuwait, he failed to get our opinions beforehand. Because several of us serve in the Reserves, we definitely would not support his actions.

Before Ms. Coleman makes a universal generalization concerning men, she should remember that not all men are for war and not all women are against it.
