Shakespeare ballet
The London Ballet Theatre will perform “A Midsummer’s NIght’s Dream,” Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St. Tickets are $4 for NIU students and $10 for non-NIU students.

Pumpkin parade
People interested in entering the Sycamore Jaycees Pumpkin Festival Parade should contact parade chairwoman Diane Yunek at 895-2267. The deadline for entries is Saturday. This years theme is “The City of Never Ending Pumkins.”
Lincoln lectures
NIU Press Director Mary Lincoln will discuss “The Northern Illinois University Press and Scholarly Publishing” on Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the staff lounge of the Founders Memorial Library. This will be the first Friends of the NIU Libraries meeting.
Lincoln will be joined by other press staff members. The NIU Press publishes 12 to 15 titles every year and has more than 170 titles in print.
MBA forum in Chicago
NIU students will have a chance to attend a master’s of business administration forum at the Congress Hotel in Chicago on Oct. 12 and 13. The seminar will give students opportunities to meet with admissions and financial aid officers, placement staff, faculty and alumni from nearly 100 graduate management schools.
Students can also obtain application materials, information on the GMAT and financial aid, attend workshops and receive free copies of the booklet “The MBA and You.”
The seminar is sponsored by the National Black MBA Association, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs and the Graduate Management Admission Council.
There is daily registration and a $5 fee payable at the door.

1990 Bowl U.S.A.
The 1990 Bowl U.S.A. to benefit cystic fibrosis will be held Oct. 13 and 14 at the Four Seasons Sports, 1745 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore.
Each bowler will raise money for cystic fibrosis through pledges. The amount pledged will be multiplied by the number of pins scored in the three games to the total pledge amount.
If the number of pins scored is under 300 the score will be raised to 300. Flat donations are encouraged and a minimum $6 amount is required.

Stop smoking
A stop-smoking class for women only will be offered by Kishwaukee Community Hospital. The four 90-minute classes will be held Mondays at 6:30 p.m. beginning Nov. 5.
The program will discuss smoking issues pertaining to women and how to prevent weight gain. There is a $35 fee and participants must pre-register by Oct. 26.
