Departments plan events

Although the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is not planning functions for parents and students this Saturday, several departments are making their faculty available to parents.

The communication studies department is holding a reception in 233 Watson Hall from 10 a.m. to noon, said Communication Studies Chairman Richard Johannesen. Refreshments will be served at the reception.

The department also will offer tours at the Northern Television Center during that time. The tours will be conducted by student members of the Communication Studies Advisory Council and members of Alpha Epsilon Rho, the communications honor society.

The computer science department also will be holding a reception for parents, students and faculty starting at 10:30 a.m. and ending prior to the football game.

The reception will be held on the northwest patio of the Psychology-Mathematics Building. Hotdogs and hot chocolate will be served. The Student Association and the Association for Computing Machinery is sponsoring the reception.

All other departments in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences were unaware of any parent-faculty conferences to be held this weekend.
