On behalf of my family and myself, I would like to sincerely thank Mayor Greg Sparrow and Aldermen for your vote against “impact fees” in DeKalb, Illinois.

Your wisdom is gratifying and progressive. Should our community ultimately require added services, let the issues be appropriately debated and financed by everyone.

Your leadership is appropriate. Keep up the effort and do not negatively take from the “producers.”

In reality, why not “pay” anyone who is willing to build a new house or apartment a one time incentive of $2,000 (financed from Tax Increment Funding district funds instead of using TIF funds for a new school administration center).

This would indeed encourage home ownership as well as create a larger, long-term tax base for all our taxing agencies.
