Voter registration
September 11, 1990
Sharon Holmes, Republican candidate for the office of DeKalb County Clerk, will attend a College Republicans meeting tonight to deputize student registrars and register student voters.
Jeff Ehrlich, Student Association voter registration co-chairman, said students need to bring photo identification and a piece of mail bearing their current address to become a registered voter in Dekalb.
Ehrlich said students should become registered “so they can have a voice in government. Our political system is failing because of our lack of voting,” he said.
olmes will speak briefly at the meeting which will be held in DuSable Hall room 202D at 9 p.m., but will mostly be registering students to vote, he said.
NIU students Jodi English, Tim Bagby, and Tom Elkins will be running for office this November, Ehrlich said.
