IFC passes ‘fairer’ Rush policy

The InterFraternity Council will start a new Rush policy for this fall.

The IFC voted at its April 8 meeting to expand Greek Row into five regions for Rush. The previous policy divided the area into three regions.

IFC President Rob Martin said the regions were changed because “the representative houses felt more regions was a fairer system.”

The new policy “gives the rushee more of a variety to find a house he is more suited for and is fairer for the fraternities,” Martin said.

The new regions are:

Region One: Kappa Sigma, Sigma Alpha Mu and Theta Chi,

Region Two: Delta Chi, Phi Kappa Theta and Pi Kappa Alpha,

Region Three: Delta Sigma Phi, Lambda Chi Alpha and Sigma Nu,

Region Four: Phi Kappa Sigma, Sigma Chi and Sigma Phi Epsilon, and

Region Five: Delta Upsilon, Phi Sigma Kappa and Sigma Pi.

Martin said rushees will be required to visit at least one house in each region. IFC will issue each rushee a card, which will be stamped by each house he visits. When a Rushee receives a bid from a house, he will turn in his Rush card.
