McCormack gains RHA endorsement

Residence Hall Association executives announced their endorsements for Student Association executive elections.

A President Gail Colbert announced Monday that she, Administration Vice President Nicole Mitchell, Programming Vice President Ted Millazo, Secretary Shelley Synovik and Treasurer Deborah Conley endorse SA Sen. Rob McCormack for president, Sen. Tanya Smith for vice president and Michael Holy for treasurer.

“As a student, I do not like what is happening (in the SA). I like McCormack’s ideas for reform in the SA and if they go through, that would be fantastic,” Colbert said.

SA Senate Speaker and presidential candidate John Fallon said he believes he has support in the residence halls and the endorsement will not affect how he addresses hall residents’ concerns.

Colbert said of the vice presidential candidates, Smith will be able to best represent the residence halls.

“I have known Tanya, she lives in the residence halls and I feel she will best be able to benefit us from that perspective,” Colbert said.

Colbert said she endorsed Holy after speaking with him and on a recommendation from Conley, who serves with Holy on the SA Finance Committee.
