Truth will win
February 13, 1990
On Jan. 30, NIU witnessed a lecture by one of the most successful and electrifying black men in the world—Minister Louis Farrakhan.
One of the reasons he is so successful is because of his religious devotion as a muslim. Muslim means one who submits to the will of God. Isn’t God freedom, justice, equality, truth, love, peace, and happiness? Yes, He is, and because Minister Farrakhan has accepted these attributes, he is thereby living a righteous life in accordance to the natural law that God intended.
Now if a man is this divine in his infinite wisdom to resurrect and change America’s falling position, why was there so much controversy over his arrival here? I’ll tell you why. Whenever truth comes to replace falsehood, there is a war! This is written in human nature for a battle to take place between good and evil.
History has proven this theory to be true. In the 19th century, there was the civil war in America. Northern states were opposed to slavery and wanted to replace it with freedom (God). Southern states wanted slavery (sin, wickedness) to remain. But the masses of oppressed black people in America wanted slavery to end. And with that kind of mentality circulating in America, a war was the final decision between freedom and slavery.
Now the reader might ask what this “good vs. evil” bit has to do with Minister Farrakhan’s arrival. The Black Student Union planned this event in a similar way as the birth of Jesus Christ. Those of you who are familiar with the birth of Jesus Christ know that Mary (his mother) had to keep his birth a secret because the evil and wicked King Herod would have killed the baby.
The king had wisdom of a future king (Jesus) who would come to replace his evil rein with truth. Now this is the same thing with the BSU (Mary). We had to keep Minister Farrakhan’s (Christ) arrival confidential because of the wicked king (Hillel, Anti-Defamation League, Jewish community relations, students, and, of course, the media.)
We kept Minister Farrakhan’s arrival confidential for at least eight months because of the evil king’s threat. I want the reader to note that January was the ninth month that the BSU gave birth to a deliverer Minister Farrakhan. And as we gave birth to a deliverer that would speak the truth and shed light on this dark and dead campus, falsehood grew angry.
Whether it was protest, rallies, petitions, or editorials, the enemy was the same. The enemy knows that he must hide the truth (Minister Farrakhan) under a bush or basket and keep confused students confused. He knows that he must keep the ignorant ignorant. Most importantly, he knows that he has to seek refuge because war is taking place.
