Associated Press yesterday, USA Today today—the NIU women’s basketball team finds itself ranked No. 23 in the USA Today’s weekly poll. This follows a No. 23 ranking by the AP.

The Huskies, 17-4, remain in that spot for the second-consecutive week after losing to Tennessee and winning against Akron and Cleveland State.

Head coach Jane Albright and her team are 8-0 in the North Star Conference, and await Thursday’s 7:00 p.m. matchup with Chicago-rival DePaul University at Chick Evans Field House.

The game is being promoted as “Bring the record home” which refers to the possibilty of breaking the Illinois women’s collegiate basketball record attendance (4,294) set earlier this season at DePaul’s Alumni Hall.

Reserved seats behind the team benches are already sold-out with general admission seating along the end lines and north side of the fieldhouse still open.
