Trust or trusted?

In reply to Jack Bennett’s letter to the editor on Feb. 23, first I would like to say that I am against abortion, not only because it takes an innocent baby’s life (a life much like your own), but also because of the things that an abortion can do to a mother.

I have never gone through the horror of an abortion (thank God), but many of my friends have. One of them is now sterile, and has not had a period since the abortion over four years ago! But I’m sure it’s a completely safe process (RIGHT!). Several others have also faced both physical and emotional problems since their abortions (But there are no mental side effects).

I would also like to address your concern of my un-Americanism. Obviously you don’t have any idea that this country was founded on Christianity, “brainwashing” I do believe you called it. Recite the Pledge of Allegiance or look at a dollar bill or any spare coin. In God We Trust is written all over. I’m wondering if we shouldn’t change that to In God We Trusted. I still do trust and I am not ashamed, “stupid,” nor imposing my views. I have a right to free speech, just as you do.
