The Student Association’s usurpation of power in the Farrakhan case is totally ridiculous. The whole senate should have voted whether to allocate $4,000 for a questionable cause.

Is it my imagination or is there a transportation deficit here at Northern? I understand there was a bureaucratic mix-up, but that could have been a hint.

Many people, including myself, don’t believe a militant racist leader should be brought to NIU for any reason other than a social call.

I’m sure the “pep-talk” Farrakhan will surely give will cause nothing but more racial tension here at Northern. Do we want a repeat of last year? I should think not.

In addition, I would like to say that this is not an “anti-black” editorial. I’d also be opposed if a “White Student Union” brought Lyndon La Rouche to NIU for a lecture as well.
