Hockey team comes from behind to win

The NIU hockey club came out flat against DePaul University last Friday night, but recovered from a 2-0 deficit to down the Blue Demons 5-2.

Stellar defensive performances were turned in by Craig Boledevich, Jeff Logan, Bill Ogigo, Keith Lucasic and Jim Kaka which enabled the NIU offense to get into gear.

Rolhf Pike got the puck sliding for NIU when he found the net at 14:05 with a slap shot from 35 feet. Pike added another goal on the day, while teammate John Danarski contributed two goals. Nick Ranieri scored once and varsity newcomer Bill Hochsfield muscled in the final NIU goal.

NIU hockey club goalie Glenn Vanco continues to play well in the net for the Huskies. He maintains a 2.98 goals against average following the 5-2 performance.
