Vote to women
October 16, 1989
In the Oct. 6 Star, you published a letter from Donna Lundstrom, who put up a very good argument for pro-choice. One of her phrases summed up some of the often overlooked problems pro-life supporters usually ignore.
“And until the anti-choice people can empty all of the orphanages and take care of and love all of the unwanted children, they have no right to attempt to make aboriton a crime.”
My father spent part of his early life in an orphanage, not because he was an orphan, but because he and his older brother were not wanted. He suffered a trauma that he never overcame.
I think we should settle this matter with a national referendum. And only WOMEN should be allowed to vote.
