Please bear with one more letter on the pro-choice/life topic. I am writing in response to Fred Freund’s letter that appeared in the Sept. 29 issue.
Mr. Freund, when a woman “opens her reproductive system to intercourse,” she usually does not do so with the intent of bearing children. Since when is the only purpose of sex to bear children? If a woman uses birth control, clearly she DOES NOT WANT A CHILD.
Should a woman have to bear the responsibility of pregnancy for nine months if an accidental pregnancy occurrs? What if she is a high school freshman? Surely, Mr. Freund, you know how cruel peers can be.
Please understand that I am not for or against the issue of pro-choice, but I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinions and choices.
