The NIU Athletic Department will sponsor a bus trip Saturday to DePaul’s Alumni Hall should the NIU women’s basketball team make it to the championship round of the North Star Conference Tournament.

Mary Mihelich, promotions and marketing director, said reservations can be made by calling the Huskie Ticket Office (753-0353).

However, the $6 bus fee must be paid prior to boarding the bus on Saturday. Also, Huskie fans must purchase their own game tickets at Alumni Hall.

The championship game will take place on Saturday March 11, at 7 p.m. The bus will leave DeKalb from the Anderson Hall parking lot at 4:45 p.m. and return following the game.

Those opting not to reserve a seat on the bus are not guaranteed space come Saturday.

Before the women’s team gets to the championship, it must defeat Cleveland State. Then NIU must beat the winner of the Marquette—Akron game.

The likely opponent in the championship round will be either Wisconsin-Green Bay or DePaul. NIU has beaten and lost to both teams this year. The most recent loss was an 85-63 setback to UW-GB on March 4 in front of an NIU women’s record crowd of 2,199 at Chick Evans Field House.
