Hospital offers program

Kishwaukee Community Hospital will offer a six-session program called “Eater’s Choice” aimed at improving eating habits and reducing cholesterol.
The course will be offered at 7 p.m. on alternate Tuesdays from Feb. 7 until April 18. The $150 registration fee includes two coronary risk examinations, the first one at the beginning of the class and another five weeks later at the final session. Pre-registration is necessary and can be made by calling Andrea Diedrich at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
Blood drive to be held
The DeKalb County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee is sponsoring a blood drive Feb. 3. from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Blood donations will be taken at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau Building, 315 N. Sixth St.
Advance registration is available by contacting the Farm Bureau Office. Appointment can be made from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., but walk-ins are also welcome.
Donors must be between 17 and 75 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more and be in general good health.
Red Cross classes offered
The Fox River Chapter of the American Red Cross has scheduled four classes for February and March. They include- standard first aid, adult CPR, community CPR, and a babysitting course.

Professor receives position
NIU business professor E. Edward Harris was made a vice president of the United States Association for Small Buiness and Entrepreneurship for 1989.
Harris has published many books, and brought NIU a large amount of money in research grants. He helped NIU to establish the NIU-based Illinois Institute for Entrepreneurship Education, a $2.75 million partnership between the government and private business.
Mock trial to be held
Douglas Hall’s political science floor will be holding a mock trial at the Moot Court Room in Swen Parson Hall Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
Participants from the political science floor will re-enact an actual murder trial. Judge Carl Cipolla will preside.
