Killer pit bulls put to sleep

Two pit bull terriers that fatally mauled 25-year-old Kevin Cull in a rural Geneva home Nov. 10 were put to sleep by lethal injection Jan. 5.

Cull, a NIU chemistry graduate student, was attacked by the dogs while visiting 29-year-old Thomas Kennedy. Kennedy is the owner of the dogs, “Sergeant” and “Colonel”, and lives at 518 Fabyan Parkway, Geneva.

Cull died at 7:30 p.m. that evening from a loss of blood caused by the attack

Kennedy’s dogs were impounded the night of the attack and were taken to the River Heights veterinary clinic in Oswego.
