NIU officials to address issues

Students and faculty have the opportunity to listen to NIU President John LaTourette and Jon Dalton, vice president for student affairs, address student issues tonight at 7:30 in the Holmes Student Center Heritage Room.

Student Association President Paula Radtke said the top five campus issues, as determined by a survey of campus organizations, will be discussed by LaTourette and Dalton.

These issues are: racism at NIU; the firing of CHANCE counselor Martha Palmer; tuition, funding and access for higher education; reallocation of space in the student center, the search for a student center director and the proposed student life building; and a separate governing board with a student vote or a student vote on the Board of Regents for NIU.

Radtke said LaTourette and Dalton will take questions from the audience after addressing each issue.
