Art school to hold annual sale
December 7, 1988
Students can get a head start on Christmas shopping at the school of art’s 13th annual “deflation sale.”
The sale will be held Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Visual Art Building’s Gallery 200.
“The sale is a way for art students to sell their work,” art Professor Bob Bornhuetter said. The items for sale include prints, paintings, drawings, fibers, jewelry, and ceramics. The prices range from $3 to $200.
When the first sale was held there was heavy inflation, and because the items were sold at reduced prices the art school called the sale a “deflation sale,” Bornhuetter said.
“Past sales have been pretty good and there are some really good deals,” he said.
