November 22, 1988
A chance to explore the myths and magnificence surrounding Greece’s and Holland’s “Monuments, Masterpieces and Old Masters” will be offered to Alumni Association travelers this spring.
Dimitri Liakos, associate professor of art history and appreciation, will lead the trip to the two countries. He and his group of travelers will leave next year on May 13 and return on May 27.
The trip costs $2,125 for contributing members of the Alumni Association and their spouses, and $2,200 for non-members. Reservation deposits of $100 per person are due Feb. 1.
“I urge you to join me so, together, we can discover this land of myth, magic and sun,” Liakos said. “We have created an exciting itinerary to the storied cities of the ancient world, designed for educated travelers who want to live and learn as they travel,” he said.
NIU student Rena Sereno, who has been on several of Liakos’ trips, describes the programs as “fabulous … half of the people on all the trips are repeats.”
Liakos added that, in Greece, “your dollar is stronger than anywhere else in Europe.”
